Description: The tail of the plane attached to the roof of the WigWam Tavern began as a practical joke. Back in the 1970's, a plane crashed on an airstrip behind the tavern. While the owner was away for the day, a couple of locals mounted it on the roof. In 2005, the owners decided it was time for a replacement, and a new site-specific installation was designed and built in sheet metal by patron Craig McMinn. You can drive by the Wigwam to take a look, or you can stop in for a drink or a meal. You may stay longer than you planned, though, as noted by two abbreviations on the airplane tail. "J1MQ1," on the south side, is short for “just one more quick one.” On the north side, "TIG2GO" stands for “then I got to go.”
